Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church
This is not a historical monument or a civic hall, but the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. This church building in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was incorporated on May 20, 1925, to serve immigrants from Greece who adhered to the Greek Orthodox faith. After founding members bought three city lots at Eleventh Street and South Guthrie Avenue, the community began building their place of worship. Groundbreaking for the first sanctuary took place in May 1927, and the first service occurred in March 1928. It remains a significant site for the Greek Orthodox community in the city, providing a dedicated space for faith and heritage. You can see the result of the early efforts of those founding members who worked to establish this presence in the city during the nineteen twenties.
