Wadsworth Atheneum
Founded in 1844, the Wadsworth Atheneum is an art museum and nonprofit organization in Hartford, Connecticut. It is a National Register of Historic Places listed place with a history of architectural contributions from Ithiel Town, Henry Austin, Benjamin Wistar Morris, and Alexander Jackson Davis. You can pick out the influence of these different architects as you walk through the galleries. I find the blend of their styles makes for a great spot to spend an afternoon, and the scale of the place is something you really have to see to appreciate.
