Washington County Museum of Fine Arts
You might expect a small town to have only a few local sketches, but this is the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts. It is a nonprofit organization in Hagerstown, Maryland, that houses a diverse range of works. You can pick out pieces from the Old Masters, Decorative art, and 19th and early 20th Century American Art. The museum draws 50,000 annual visitors who come to see these collections. I've noticed the building has a bit of a history of its own, starting with the original structure and growing over time. It is a great spot to spend an afternoon if you want to see how different eras of art speak to one another in one place.
