Tennessee Aquarium
The Tennessee Aquarium is a non-profit public aquarium located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is home to more than 12,000 animals representing almost 800 species. The facility first opened in 1992 and later saw a major expansion added in 2005. For those visiting, it is a place where you can see a vast array of aquatic life in a professional setting, as the aquarium has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1993. It provides a window into the diverse species that inhabit our waters. I've noticed the crowds always seem to move in a slow, hypnotic drift, much like the fish they are watching, which makes for a very relaxing walk through the galleries. I always keep a sharp eye on the glass for any stray crumbs left behind by the tourists.
