Arco de la Federación
You will first notice the imposing scale of the Arco de la Federación as it rises over the street. This triumphal arch is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks, designed to create a sense of grandeur for those passing beneath it. When you look closer at the stonework and the proportions, you are seeing the vision of Juan Hurtado Manrique, who served as the architect for the project. Work on the monument was started in 1895, marking a specific era of urban development in Caracas. It is a great spot to pause and look at the surrounding city layout. I usually find the ledge is a decent spot to keep an eye on the traffic below.
