It was originally called Scholz Palace and was built by the German entrepreneur Karl Waldemar Scholz. The name changed to Palácio Rio Negro in 1918. Over time, the building was a seat of government and the residence of the governor of the state of Amazonas. I've found that the facade makes for a great bank shot.
