A nonprofit organization founded the Louisville Zoo in 1969. They created a 134-acre zoo situated in the city's Poplar Level neighborhood. It is known as the State Zoo of Kentucky and currently exhibits over 1,200 animals. I've found that the variety of species makes it a great spot for a stroll. You can pick out a wide array of wildlife as you walk through the grounds, making it a primary destination for visitors to Louisville, Kentucky.
