The museum moved from Lorenzi Park to the Springs Preserve campus in 2008, and its name was changed from the Nevada State Museum and Historical Society in that same year. It is a great spot to see how the city grew around the desert.

The Las Vegas Valley Water District owns and operates the preserve, which functions as an educational area. Visitors can explore 180 acres of land dedicated to nature walks and displays. It is also a stop listed on the Las Vegas Pioneer Trail. I find it a refreshing change of pace from the neon lights of the strip, and it is a wonderful place to stretch your legs and see the greenery that makes this desert oasis possible.
