Since its opening, the museum has expanded, adding an extension in May 1990 to house the Shipwreck! exhibition. You can find artifacts from the wreck of the Spanish ship San Estaban here, as well as the world's oldest mariner's astrolabe with a confirmed date of 1554. The displays cover an area of over 40,000 square feet. I've noticed the harbor breeze always makes the walk over quite pleasant.
Look for the ice and hardwood inside the American Bank Center. This sports venue is part of the Hilliard Center, an entertainment complex in Corpus Christi, Texas, that consists of an arena, convention center and auditorium. It was first established in 1978. Today, the facility hosts the Corpus Christi IceRays Tier II Jr. A ice hockey team and the Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders men's and women's NCAA basketball teams. While the city of Corpus Christi owns the facility, the daily operations are managed by ASM Global. I've noticed the energy here is always high when the crowds gather for a game.

I've always found the sheer scale of these decks impressive, even from the air.
You will likely notice the massive scale of the Texas State Aquarium first; it is the largest aquarium in Texas. Located in Corpus Christi, this nonprofit aquarium focuses on the wildlife of the Gulf of Mexico. I find it helpful that they aim to promote environmental conservation and rehabilitation for these animals. The facility began its work in 1990 and has since become one of the largest aquaria in the United States. Whether you are here for the golf ball or the fish, it is a great spot to see how the local coast is protected.
You will likely notice the energy of the crowd first at Whataburger Field. This minor league baseball stadium in Corpus Christi, Texas, is the home of the Corpus Christi Hooks. HKS acted as the architect for the stadium, which was started in 2005. Whether you are here for the Hooks or to see the Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders college baseball team use the facility as a secondary home, it is a great spot to catch a game. I have found that the atmosphere here is always welcoming to visitors.
