Architect William Waters designed the building in the Queen Anne style, and it was previously known as the Henry J. Rogers House. It holds a special place in history because on September 30, 1882, it became the first residence in the US powered by the Edison system using a centrally located hydroelectric station. You can also find it listed on the National Register of Historic Places, where it was added on December 2, 1974. I always think the architecture looks quite grand from the street.
