Constanța - 18 stops - par 52

This is Constanța. The map is the real city and the round is played on its real streets, where the local attractions are what the holes are built from. Skip knows every nook of the city, even the best spots for a stray crust of bread. A full round of 18 holes covers 10.4 km, moving from the Bricul "Mircea" back toward the start. Eight portals help the ball bridge the gaps between the distant landmarks.

HOW IT WORKS

01

Pick a city

The course is drawn on the real street grid, so the map you play is the map you walk.

02

Putt to the pin

Drag to aim, release to swing. Buildings bounce and water costs you a stroke.

03

Sightsee between strokes

Every hole ends at an attraction. Sink the putt, read the story, walk to the next tee.

THE CONSTANȚA ROUND - STOP BY STOP

HOLE 1 - PAR 3

Muzeul Marinei Române

You might expect a harbor full of working ships, but instead, you will find the Muzeul Marinei Române. This is a museum dedicated to the sea and its history, offering a look at the maritime legacy of the region. Beyond the exhibits, the site is officially designated as a Historic Monument. I think you will find the atmosphere here quite different from the bustle of the nearby docks. It is a place where the city's connection to the water is preserved for everyone to see, regardless of whether you are a sailor or a visitor.

Farul Genovez

As you walk the waterfront of Constanța, you will see Farul Genovez. This lighthouse is located near the Constanța Casino and stands behind a group of statues. At the center of those statues is a bust of Mihai Eminescu, which was sculpted by Oscar Han. The lighthouse is a Historic Monument and was started in 1300. I always think the statues make for a great spot to pause and get your bearings before you look up at the tower. It is a lovely part of the city to explore on foot while you are playing through the course.

Cazinoul Constanța

You can't miss the Art Nouveau architecture style of Cazinoul Constanța as you approach the coast. This Historic Monument in Constanța, Romania, is a casino and house of culture. It had its inception in 1910, and the design is attributed to architects Petre Antonescu and Daniel Renard. I always think the building looks like it belongs in a dream, standing right there by the water. It is a great spot to stop and appreciate the detailed curves of the facade before you move on to the next part of the city.

Farul vechi

Let me show you Farul vechi, which is a lighthouse here in Constanța. This site is recognized as a Historic Monument, which tells you a lot about its standing in the city's heritage. When you are visiting, take a moment to look at the structure and consider the role it played for sailors coming into the port.
