Ljubljanski grad
Ljubljanski grad is a castle sitting on Castle Hill above downtown Ljubljana. It was probably constructed in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 12th century. The castle acquired its present outline after an almost complete overhaul in the 15th century, though most buildings there date to the 16th and 17th centuries. This monument of local significance was the seat of the lords of Carniola starting in the first half of the 14th century. Since the early 19th century, it has been used for various other purposes. I've always found the view from the hill to be the best spot in the city.
