Büsserach

Büsserach sits in the Laufental, the Jura valley carved by the Lüssel river in canton Solothurn. The village lies along the H18 main road, which follows the valley floor between Laufen and Delémont before continuing north to Basel. Drivers coming from Basel take the A18 motorway south through Aesch and Grellingen, then join the H18 for the final stretch through Zwingen and Laufen into Büsserach, a trip of about 30 kilometers and a common daily commute for people working in the city. From Delémont, the drive south on the H18 through the Jura hills covers a similar distance and connects Büsserach to the French-speaking part of the canton. Visitors arriving from Zurich or Bern generally join the A2 or A1 motorway network first, then switch to the A18 near Basel before dropping into the Laufental, a longer trip that brings out-of-town traffic through the valley on weekends and holidays. The surrounding villages, Erschwil, Breitenbach, Wahlen, and Brislach, sit within a few kilometers and form a tight cluster of short local trips along the same valley road.
